Sarah O’Connor
Sarah graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Since graduating Sarah has worked in the private setting, aged care, disability, sub-acute and community settings.
Sarah has experience working with both children and adults with communication, speech, voice and stuttering difficulties. She is passionate about her clients having a right to communication, learning new routines, and that her clients can independently make choices. Sarah is Key Word Sign certified. She has a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and implementing the most appropriate device for her client. Sarah has created, modified and sought out a range of high and low technology communication systems for her clients.
Sarah has extensive experience with swallowing and mealtime difficulties in aged-care, disability and within the community. She ensures to work with her client’s discussing risks during mealtimes. Sarah is trained in Dysphagia Disorder Survey and Dysphagia Management Staging Scale.
Sarah has recently moved to Darwin from Sydney and is enjoying the warmer weather!
